  24. If you subscribe to a <A
  25. HREF="http://www.w3.org/hypertext/WWW/LineMode/Defaults/AboutNewsServers.html"><I>news
  26. server</I></A>, you can use Mosaic to read <A
  27. HREF="http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/text/faq/usenet/usenet/what-is/part1/faq.html"><I>Usenet
  28. newsgroups</I></A>. To post articles to newsgroups, a dedicated news program is
  29. needed.

  31. <P><B>To configure Mosaic to access newsgroups:</B>

  33. <P><LI>From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
  34. <P><LI>Choose the Miscellaneous panel, if necessary.
  35. <P><LI>In the News Server field, enter the domain name or IP address
  36. of your news server.

  42. <P><LI>To list the available newsgroups, type <A
  43. HREF="news:*">news:*</A> in the URL field. An alphabetical list of
  44. newsgroups with brief descriptions is displayed. To list the articles in
  45. a newsgroup, click the name of the newsgroup.

  48. <B>news:<I>newsgroup</I></B>. For example: <A

  52. (//) after the colon.

  55. 20 articles are listed. Click a subject line to display the full
  56. article. If an article is related to other messages, links to the
  57. related articles are provided.
